Open several sites (ctrl+click) from urlbar drop-down list

When I type something in urlbar and the list appears, I sometimes want to open several sites from there.
So ideally I would ctrl+click (or middl-emouse click) on some sites so they would open in new tabs in background.
But even when I Ctrl+Click new tab opens and the list disappears.

Any way to do this?
