I am a long-time Firefox user. By long time, I means going onto two decades - it is definitely my preferred browser.
However, there have been a number of times when I try to access a site with Firefox and get nothing, but when I access the same page with Chromium, it loads. For example, the site www.tasteofhome.com does not load with Firefox (version 87), but come right up with Chromium (version 84).
What on earth is going on? More importantly, can I modify Firefox so that it works on all sites?

No problem loading that site here either. Try clearing the browser cache and any cookies related to that site, then close and restart the browser. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/ho ... efox-cache

Some data in the cache may have become corrupted. It happens and that's why clearing the cache is recommended when only certain sites fail to load.
