How to make so that you have icon in the window bar in kde

Post by tbrkic »

Hi,

I installed phoenix. And installed the icons under the proper place $KDEDIR/share/icons/...
And I also formatted to the right pixelsizer for the different directories.

The problem is that I dont get the phoenix icon in the window bar or when I minimize
phoenix.

It does work with mozilla.

Does anybody know how to solve this?

Try putting your icon into "chrome/icons/default" (create the dirs that don't exist) in your Phoenix application dir and name it "main-window.xpm".

From the post:
http://www.mozillazine.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2195

I found most of the info but it was based on windows platform and I use linux.

But anyway the easise is to copy your ...mozilla/chrome/icon/default directory to
phoenix/chrome/icon/default. You will then have the mozilla symbols in the window bar and
the icon in the taskbar.

If you want to put your own icons, there are some nice ones at:

http://iconpacks.mozdev.org/phoenix/

But you have to convert them to xpm format. To do that I downloaded a program called
ico2xpm. Easy to find through google.

Then I converted the pictures I wanted to use and renamed them to main-window.xpm and
bookmark-window.xpm. I used kiconedit in kde to find out which one was the biggest size.
ico2xpm converts to different sizes. Think best is to use the biggest size.

You have to place the converted xpm images in the directory ..../phoenix/chrome/icon/default
