i havent read the whole thread but a copy/paste issue was present in *all* Firefox/bird/Phoenix releases so far.

Sometimes it just stopped working (without a clue why, but it looks like a focus issue)

open help/about and closing it again helped most of the time

maybe this is somehow related to this issues described here

I was just going to post about not being able to cut/paste with my Gmail using FF.

I have to use my IE browser to cut/paste with Gmail.

I'm using 1.5.0.3 FF now with XP. When will there be an update so cut/paste will work with FF with Gmail through XP??? Actually, I can't cut/paste anywhere with FF like on message boards I'm on.


Sure hope cut/paste will be working with FF soon.

I found no pushow in all my files including hidden files.
I found no program in add/delete that should be removed.

I do not have the 'new.com' software; comprehensive search of the whole machine using both the built in file finder and the GNU find.exe.

I also do not have any unknown pop*.dll or push*.dll.

Yet, I have the cut and past problem. It happens some of the time and closing firefox and restarting it cures the problem.

If you're seeing this some of the time, then it should be fixed in 1.5.0.4 +

If you're still seeing it in 1.5.0.6 I've seen some reference that in these cases copying using the context menu will work, although the guy that is claiming there is a fix for these seems to be an attention hog and is directing people to his forum (where I couldn't find the fix) rather than just sharing it.

If you have a problem with Copy/Paste or FAYT (find bar) then try this:
Open the Help window (F1) and close that window (Ctrl+W will do).
That always works for me (try a second time if necessary).

Therefore, 32 unique users with the problem, out of 40 million plus updates/downloads combined, I'd have to say that there is no problem with the build.

I have installed firefox on several windows xp boxes at work. All of them exhibit the same annoying copy&paste bug. Non of the above mentioned malware were found in any of the systems. But I have installed Addblock plus and Adblock Filterset.G Updater extensions in all of them. Could those extensions be source of the problem?

This isn't fixed. It's still happening. I frequently can't copy and paste text which I have just typed into a text dialogue box - even in 1.5.0.7.

To be clear I can highlight it and right click and select 'copy' in Windows XP. But attempting to paste the text anywhere else gives me no 'paste' option.

This has been going on for a very long time now with no fix in sight.

I don't have any of the .dll's or malware associated with what previous posters have reported.

This (at least in my case) has nothing to do with malware/spyware.

Try Ctrl+Insert to Copy and Shift+Insert to Paste.
