Aol search from address bar..please help

Hi!Im having a problem. when i type something in to my address bar without the .com on the end firefox used to take over and bring me where i wanted to go. but recently an aim tool bar changed that so i get AOL search results instead. I have deleted everything aim or AOL i can find from my control panel as well as the tool bar from ff. How can i fix this?
