BitTorrent will help to protect Mozilla.org from bombardment a lot, but it won't help Texturizer, Mozdev or MozillaZine...

To aid this, I would strongly suggest that you bookmark MozillaZine (and specific forum urls) that are important to you and load them directly, instead of going via the forum index. Also extending your disk cache and visiting MozillaZine, Mozdev and Texturizer the night before 0.9 may help over the coming days.

If you are planning to use a lot of extensions, try to download them now (or at least, before 0.9) to cut down on bandwidth consumption on not only the main distribution sites, but also to help the author domains from being hit too hard in one go.

There are 3 bugs left to be fixed on the 0.9+ blocking list.
There are also about 15 bugs left on the 0.9? blocking list.

So, if those three bugs are all that's left, then I can see FF 0.9 making the 6/14 date.

Are there presently any official or semi-official Mozilla BitTorrent locations that we can bookmark now, or are we just relying on a random Slashdotter to seed them?

Somebody should set a seed up for the Firefox 0.9 RC1 ( out tomorrow) here on Mozillazine. That way we will be better prepared for the 0.9 release.

Thanks Ben. The work you have put into this project is certainly appreciated, as you can see. The excitement is building for .09 but what we all await is the big 1. Not so long ago that seemed way off in the future and now it is just around the corner.

Move over IE, you are about to see excellence in browsing.

I think the excellence can already be seen.

I'll mirror it, if I'm able to get it early enough (though I can't torrent it).

Does 0.9 do a better job handling the usage of memory? I've caught my Firefox red-handed with over 100 megs of RAM after a long day and many tabs...

With the theme change, is the release of 0.9 being delayed until the theme is in a more polished state?
