Crashed during a download. Have not been able to start it since. I can start as root but not any users.

When I launch as user and use top to monitor here's what's hanging.

root 15041 73.5 0.0 244 52 pts/0 R 20:06 0:02 /sbin/modprobe -s -k -- net-pf-10

directly after the crash I had to change the permissions of /dev/null cause the script wasn't able to write to it.

If I kill modprobe, phoenix then lauches as normal. I've checked for lock files and tmp files but didn't find any. What else should I check for.

Have you tried deleting downloads.rdf in the profile you used during the first crash?

I removed (renamed) the entire ~/.phoenix directory. That didn't work. Somehow something in /dev/ was corrupted. Not sure what happened as phoenix couldn't?? have hosed up those entries ( I was not running as root). I wasn't doing anything else at the time so I'm a bit confused. I had to reinstall the dev rpm to clean up the mess. I actually couldn't even reboot until I did this.
