It works fine for me. You might have to tinker with MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME in Thunderbird though (I had to).
Ah, using "mailto" there was the trick! I tried your command and it works perfectly.

Yeah, it took me a while to figure it out, too. I was trying to figure out why Thunderbird wasn't taking the arguments when I saw that one of Thunderbird's options was "-mail <url>". It was the "url" part that finally made it click for me.

That's exactly where I got stuck. I figured that I'd need to use the "-compose" option, but it never occurred to me that <url> could be replaced with mailto:<address>. I owe you one!

Well if you want me to try out, you have to wait till I get home today. My Linux box at work doesn't have Thunderbird. In the meantime, did you try DonPete's suggestion?

i tried your command, in a shell it works, but when i click on a mailto link, i have this error :
run-mozilla.sh: Cannot execute /home/asterix/firebird/MozillaFirebird/thunderbird-bin.
I think the probleme is with the MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME variable, but if i set it to /home/asterix/thunderbird in run-mazilla.sh, i can't lunch firebird anymore

Could you please take that chip off your shoulder? I am just making sure.

Could someone help me out with the correct syntax for allowing firebird to open Outlook for email in windows using this plugin.
thanks
Oh no, that's a bad mix and match!

YFan wrote:Actually I just tested it (with TB's directory of course) and it works perfectly well with mozex, at least for the mailto intercepting.
Oops, I take that back. I tried with /program files/Thunderbird/thunderbird.exe %s %a ... but it didn't work. It worked initially after putting that in, but that is only because my Folder Type modification was still in effect. When I tried to put something in bogus testing to make sure mozex was indeed intercepting Mailto links, and then put back my directory, it didn't work. So I am back to square one. What is the "bin"?
PS: My problem is that I don't understand the usr/bin stuff. If they are just a random directory and supposed to be replaced with some other directory, please tell me which directory (or what's in it -- the TB exe file or what).
