Excuse for ambigous posting. I fully support your estimation that there shouldn't be a difference between administrators and "simple home users". I am not B. Smedberg who wrote this shit "The profile manager is not designed for "simple home users", who should normally never see it. Still INVALID (or WONTFIX) ".
In fact, I was very disappointed about this statement.
Because I lost some data caused by lousy designed dialogs for profile handling, I went to bugzilla and looked for similar experiences. I found Bug 270705 and I found it closed. So I asked for rethinking and reopening. I got the above answer.
Then I went to the forums and found similar problems. For example this one. And I posted the disappointing news that some supercilious mozilla developers are not interested in seeing the problem at all.
