Thank you for the information that followed the above quote. I will try to check it out, but I must admit I have no idea what the purpose of the process is, or what I'm supposed to discover from it. I wish I did.
It's been awhile since I read the entire document but it should pretty much spell out the reason for starting Firefox in safe-mode....and it is just a test-mode and should not be used for normal use.
The word "Bookmarks" is not shown on the browser on my new computer
The 'heading' Bookmarks should be part of the menu bar so that bar may not be displaying ... you can make sure it's displayed by either clicking on the Alt button and it will temp-display once but then you need to go up there and click on View and Toolbars... then make sure that the Menu bar has a check-mark next to it... if it does not then just left-click on it and the Menu bar should stay there... or you can follow the info in this link...
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/wh ... view-menus
Below is an example of one of my past screen-shots... it's just part of the whole page that I copied ... I didn't need the whole thing... but you will notice that it is big enough to actually see what is on it and it can be zoomed into without much focus-loss... that is the kind of stuff that you need to produce so that we can really see what you have.

In post 5 in this thread, I listed some web sites (such as http://forvo.com/ ) which produce the blank thumbnails I spoke of. I thought maybe if someone tried to add one of them to a tabs page, it would show what I'm talking about, in comparison to a site which does produce an image (such as http://onelook.com/ ). If the former shows an image for you, then something is wrong on my end. Is this correctable? Or is it normal for some pages to show no image on the thumbnail?
I visited both of those sites and had no problems seeing their site-icons...
Also... part of that Firefox safe-mode routine is to start it up in that mode and then check out sites like the ones you posted above to see what happens...
