is it possible to make a common folder for ad-dons in case of multiple profiles, just to save space, take advantage of collecting information.
it will like installing apps in windows, one can choose whether it is for all profiles or just this profile
thanks in advance
now I am using mklink in windows to do so, but it will be useful to have this, and I am not sure if it was suggested before but I couldn't find such one
I could be wrong... but I very much doubt it... and I believe the actual space that an extension takes up if extremely small... just my thoughts on it.
As you can see she's (The CAT) always alert and on the prowl for Meoware !!
it is not just the space, it was stupid to mention that
Lots of advantages like in adblock you can update the list taking advantage of the profile, when installing new add-ons they are always fragments it will easier to defrage, not to mention taking advantage of the updates you can update once instead of so many times, the space is at last ...... etc
it is not difficult to do, it will cost nothing
You could build a working mock-up and take it to over to Mozilla... they rarely visit this forum. Mozilla does have its own

I did one, I thought this is the official Mozilla forum
Talk about stupid ... Mozilla hasn't referred users here for support since late 2007 or 2008, when Mozilla started their own Firefox support fora.
In Firefox go to Help > Firefox Help to be sent to the official Firefox support fora.
"Global extensions" for all Profiles, haven't been available to the user thru a User Interface since like 2005. After that there was a "command line" method of installing an extension globally.

But as of Firefox 4.0 (March 2011) that scheme was removed.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Mine has wandered off and I'm out looking for it.
Or rather https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/
The mZ forums may come up higher in search engine results due to fact that it has existed since Nov 4, 2002 while the official https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/ support forum did not really get started until 2007/2008 for desktop Firefox and then more recently for some other products. If mozillaZine was a official Mozilla site then it would have *.mozilla.org links on top and or bottom like a typical mozilla.org page.
