Is there any utils that can merge two bookmarks html files without duplicates ? I have two computers and use firefox on both of them adding different folders and bookmarks to them. Can I merge these two html files into one single bookmark.html file but without duplicates ?
Would anyone know of this one ? http://bookmark-merger.sourceforge.net/
Thanks

From past experience (I'll assume that it still does it) ... when you Import from HTML it will just add that new set of bookmarks into you current bookmarks... thus ending up with basically two sections in your system (in the Places.sqlite file) ... then you would have to manually arrange them to your liking.... but it won't take as long as one would think. As for dups... maybe this?
Bookmark Deduplicator :: Add-ons for Firefox
But what I would do before you start messing with your Firefox profiles is create a new profile to play with ... it will start out with a pretty much empty file... just remove the bookmarks that get create with a new profile... then import those two files into it to see what you get... and maybe install that extension. Once that is complete... then you can decide on how to handle your main profile stuff... know what I mean?
Two things... back up the profile that you are importing into... always safe to do that...
Profile backup - MozillaZine Knowledge Base
To create a work profile... the one to test with...
Creating a new Firefox profile on Windows - MozillaZine Knowledge Base
And,.... DON'T TOUCH THAT "Choose Folder..." BUTTON! ... unless you fully know all about it.
...and if you need to run that profile at the same time as your main one...

Did you see the Links page on that Firefox Bookmarks.html Merger page?
http://bookmark-merger.sourceforge.net/Links.html
I used this one - http://bookmarkbridge.sourceforge.net/ - over 10 years ago.
And I used this one, too, - http://www.magnusbrading.com/bmc/ - back then.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Mine has wandered off and I'm out looking for it.

Re: Is there any utils that can merge two bookmarks html fil
I looked at some of the links on this thread, and I'm still baffled.
I have two bookmark.html files that are very similar, from two different PCs. They used to get synced via Xmarks but that's been dead for a couple of years.
I'm getting rid of the older PC and want to merge its bookmarks into the newer PC, but then -- MOST IMPORTANT -- I want to de-duplicate.
Still haven't found a good way to do this.
What's the latest on this?
