Searching always starts at beginning

Post by david835 »

Searching (Ctrl+F) always starts at the beginning of the current page in the current tab.

Searching for a string that occurs frequently on the page would be ever so much more helpful if you could click somewhere to indicate that searching should start here, then press Ctrl+F.

Or if the search would start at the top of the current screen of text instead of at the beginning of the entire page.

Even if there is some objection to this feature for a good reason, a new similar feature would be useful, or an option could be enabled to change how Ctrl+F works.

I would use such a feature. Would you?

Thank you,

Working as expected on my end.
Set a position on the page, & Find starts its find from that position.

See if there is any change for you in Safe Mode.

Set position on page = click where you want to set the position. Merely scrolling down the page won't do it.
