Blinking Black Background FF45-46
flickering or blinking black background when changing or clicking pages on eBay
there has been a thread posted about the issue
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Technical ... p/25374731
safe mode/add-ons off
unable to get a screen shot
it started with FF 45
was hoping latest version would see a fix

thank you for looking
try clicking on sub categories, open up an item/refresh, go back a page/next or another item and back & forth
you may see it that way
i keep trying to get a screenshot, though i'm not sure how to use the timer to capture the blinking black page
hardware acceleration is turned off
it's does same on my linux & windows computer

I checked out a number of items on eBay... clicked the item, clicked another item within a page... went down to about 5 items, refreshed, went back, refreshed etc... no flickering at all.
Tried a test profile? ... test it as-is...

And,.... DON'T TOUCH THAT "Choose Folder..." BUTTON! ... unless you fully know all about it.

Any chance your Security software is blocking stuff? Virtualy all of the content is hosted at http://secureir.ebaystatic.com/ so it looks like 3rd party content (malware) to a lot of that software.
I dont have a clue why the blinking tho ... maybe the ebay servers keep trying to complete the connection

Re: Blinking Black Background FF45-46
When you say that all security software is turned off... does that mean that you restarted your PC into safe-mode? ... or you just got into the software and disabled it? ... the reason I ask is that turning off software from within the apps. does not always turn it off entirely.. and I'll assume that Linux has a safe-mode routine???
As for the older version of Firefox... if all works fine... that that is OK to run it.

Re: Blinking Black Background FF45-46
Based on the eBay forum it sounds like....
...so, I guess Firefox users just live with it until eBay fixes it?Somebody at eBay has coded parts of their website to display a black background until the the site has loaded the Cascading Style Sheet backgound color, which is white. On a fast broadband connection, this shows as a flash of black and then the page completes loading.
It's a ROOKIE website coding error ... which doesn't suprise me in the least.

Re: Blinking Black Background FF45-46
Funny how it only happens with Firefox browsers and yet it's considered an eBay problem. FWIW, I have noticed this problem on several other websites as well.
I jumped through all of the hoops (upgrade video driver, disable hardware acceleration, blah, blah, blah) and none of them worked. Anyway, no one should have to change a bunch of computer settings just so a finicky Firefox will work properly.
This is a well documented problem that started with version 45. Perhaps the coders at Firefox should look at what changes they made from version 44 to 45, et al, and try to solve the problem, instead of blaming other websites.

Got a link to those other problem sites? ... Helps you know...G_Mann wrote:Funny how it only happens with Firefox browsers and yet it's considered an eBay problem. FWIW, I have noticed this problem on several other websites as well.

The thing here is that browser manufactures provide coding standards so that the devs. at sites can produce the proper code in order to display their sites... without issues... all browser manufactures do that but some coders don't follow 'the rules' ... and the manufacture should not be changing their code to 'fix' their browser because some lazy coder took shortcuts... that is how it works.
In the link posted by the OP ... it contains info on how to get around this... such as the below...
http://secureir.ebaystatic.com/pictures ... /imgbg.jpg
...and that poster mentions to put that code in Adblock Plus... which is a AD blocking extension... so it sounds like the problem is AD related or ??
FWIW ... I use this extension in both of my profile and have no issues with Ebay...

I was facing same issue but reinstalling the setup resolved my it. As far as my experience, something gets wrong during installation that causes this problem. May be i am wrong but it worked well for me!
