Yes, that's exactly the sentence the HTML 4.0 spec linked above contains. The point is that it's only a (not even widely known) recommendation, und thus not implemented in many CGIs. But anyway, let's give others a chance to stay on topic here :wink:

HTML 4.0 Strict will put us in standards mode.

Just hard to keep up with all the modes and doctypes currently (just read Gecko now has 3 different modes :shock: )

Just think of it as job security. I would love to see some of the staff I work with try to keep up with all this. They throw a fit when transiting from Office 2000 to Office XP.
