Are those errors copy and pasted or type in? The reason I ask is that as far as I know windows would never report "Application Name: Explorer.EXE" As far as I know it would always be "Application Name: explorer.exe"

You wouldn't happen to have Zip Genius program?
A lot of things about your crash is very weird, including exception c0000374 and Fault Module Name: StackHash_fa06. Googling for those doesn't suggest firefox is involved.

I'm having this same issue. With FF 3.5 and 3.5.1 I was experiencing random explorer crashes, even when ff was not open. I tried everything else, including using ShellEx, disabling extensions, etc...but reverting back to FF 3.0.12 was the only solution that worked. My computer was rock solid up until FF 3.5 was installed and 3.5.1 did not fix the problem.
This only happens on Vista64 and not the 32bit version of vista. I have 3.5.1 installed on several XP and even windows 7 machines and this does not happen. What gives? I've been using Firefox ever since it was firebird and for more than 5 years without any major issues. The explorer crashes seemed to occur more often when right clicking, but at times just when using the machine. Almost seemed like bad memory but that was not the case after extensive testing. Could it be a Vista 64 issue? I currently have Sp1 installed and have not installed SP2 because of USB issues reported with that.

I am having similar issues so after reading this post and others I thought I would uninstal FF and then reinstall 3.0.12 (assuming I had 3.5.1 since I have a new laptop). Guess what? I am running 3.0.12 already and still have these issues, so I completely un-installed FF (which sucks as I hate IE). So now I am not sure what to do ... Unfortunately, after I un-installed it I realized that might not have been the smartest thing to do. I do not know how to view these logs like are posted above and now of coruse I am assuming they are gone with the uninstall.
I think I will reinstall and see what happens, but this is very frustrating ... I am running Vista Ultimate 64 bit and have been having Windows Explorer and/or Firefox crashes almost daily (either one not responding, so I have to close. FF error message does not successfully report etc.). I finally put the two together and did some web searches. Looks like this is a known issue as I am not the only one having it and it is reported on many help forums ... Most of the forum posts I saw were from 2008 and I see posts on support.mozilla.com where people say that "Yes, FF is compatible with Vista." Am I missing something? Has this issue been resolved? It doesn't seem so on this forum. What is the difference between the two sites? I hate IE, but hate my computer locking up and FF crashing even more. Please help! I have a brand new HP with a fast processor and lots of memory ... I have my own business and do a lot online, so I often have multiple tabs and windows with FF open, but not usually many other programs. The Explorer & sometimes FF crash happens most often when I am trying to switch between tabs or windows using alt tab, but FF also crashes at others time, like if I go away and come back later. So it doesn't seem to matter, seems it just takes a little time and it will crash. I was also using a few FF Add-ons and wonder if that is also an issue: auto-paging, Weather.com, Personas, WiseStamp, Twitter and some others which I don't remember because I uninstalled FF in haste out of frustration. Ugh! I am now wishing I had shelled out the extra money to upgrade to a Mac ... Firefox is absolutely compatible with Vista, both 32 and 64 bit. I'm running Firefox 3.5.1 on two different Vista systems with no crashes or other problems of any sort.
As for Explorer crashing when Firefox is not running, that doesn't even seem logical. If Firefox had overwritten a file required by Explorer with a different and incompatible version, the crash should occur every single time that file is called. And if it is not a matter of an overwritten file, how could an application that is not running cause Explorer to crash? Dan Raisch Vista Home Premium 64, FF 3.6, TB 3.0.1

Dan, you are referring to the original post I know, but just an FYI: I always have FF running when Explorer crashes and Explorer only crashes for me when I am using the "Alt + Tab"feature to switch between sessions of FF. I just install the newest version of FF and will see how it goes. I'll report back any issues that arise and try to get the error logs once I figure out how to do that!

Same here folks. I'm just not a genius when it comes to this, but my Vista 64 came to a screeching halt last week when I installed 3.5.2. Just realized that it might be FF, uninstalled, fast as ever. Reinstalled FF 3.5.2, dead stoppage again. Not sure what is going on as I've always had fantastic things to say about FF, but something is drastically wrong here.
Any ideas? I really don't want to go back to using IE.

I have exactly the same problem with vista 64 sp2 and with seven 64.
I'm experiencing random explorer crash eventhough firefox is not running.

Why are you making any connection between Explorer crashing and Firefox being installed on the machine but not running? Have you uninstalled Firefox and seen the problem with Explorer disappear?
