Crash after some sites, confirm anyone?
When I go to this site:
http://www.tweakers.net/
Phoenix crashes when I close it (so no biggy, was exitting anyway).
Could someone confim this? It happens with several sites, but this one is 100%.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021129 Phoenix/0.4
Also tried 11-28, 11-18, both crashed. With 'official' Release 0.4 it is ok (some nightlies too).
Steps:
1. Open Phoenix
2. Go to www.tweakers.net
3. Close window (and thus exit Phoenix).
4. Crash.
Short crash-info:
AppName: phoenix.exe AppVer: 1.3.0.0 ModName: phoenix.exe
ModVer: 1.3.0.0 Offset: 0006ca77
It sometimes crashes even if I already left the site, and sometimes it doesn't.
Have tried:
1. Make new profile
2. Reinstall Phoenix
3. Both
Have not tried:
1. Install Mozilla 1.3a nighly
2. a lot of other things

confirmed on winme 11-25 nightly.
side note: dang that page took forever to load! i'm on cable and normally have almost no load time, but that site took over 10 seconds, and i watched as the pictures came in. the throbber never stopped moving, even after i saw all the stuff fill in, so my 10 second estimate came from my visual loading time. that's crazy.

some clues perhaps:
If I install the 11/28 as instructed, delete old phoenix folder and profile first, then I get the crash closing aftwer tweaker.net. However, if I install the 11/26 on top of the 11/14 and then intall the 11/28 on top of that, resulting in some old files in the directories, and do not delete the profile or use the profile manager, phoenix runs well and there is no crash the problem site.

Interesting denro, that would probably mean 'they' deleted a file to much.
Extra info: the sites webmaster uses Mozilla, and the site is designed to be compatible. But it could still be an error on the site (but I don't think so, considering it does work with lotsa different versions).
Edit:
Tested some more: only version that doesn't crash: 0.4 (with or without new profile)
Sometimes on 11-14, even if I place it over 0.4
11-14 is a Mozilla 1.3a version, will install that next.

Tested with latest Mozilla 1.3a (quicklaunch on of off): crash.
So it's probably not a 'trimming'/clean-up bug...
I will contact the webmasters (of tweakers.net) about this.
I think it has something to do with the ads (from www.webads.nl), other sites with those ads have the same problem...
www.gamers.nl
www.trafficnet.nl
(but none crash with 0.4)

Sounds like a bug in the Mozilla core. Are you using a talkback enabled build? File a bug with Bugzilla.

I think I found the cause: if I block "adserver.webads.nl", it does NOT crash anymore. So the error is in that part of code (or the bug is triggered by that part).
Eventually Phoenix will be talkback-enabled. But when reporting bugs, we have to figure out of it is Phoenix induced or a core bug. More often I install Mozilla for the DOM Inspector for debugging themes. There's supposedly one out there for Phoenix, but I couldn't find it.

On the nov 30 Nightly it doesn't crash. However, the ad takes forever to load. The rest of the page in in view but the progress indicator in the statusbar keeps 'hanging' on about 95%.
If I block adserver.webads.nl there is no difference.
Jake, I'm in Holland too (Haarlem) and still the ad refuses to load completely. The rest of the page is fast...
Maybe you should install the 11-30 build. I tried old and new profiles. No crash on either...
Veel succes!
