Middle click bug with 20021201 - can you confirm?

Post by michal017 »

I just installed 20021201 nightly on my Linux box and imported bookmarks from previous Phoenix..
Middle clicking on a bookmark in the sidebar, with no tabs opened, opens 2 tabs:
1st - about:blank
2nd - the bookmark I wanted

any1 can confirm this?

Also, closing the 2nd tab (the one that has the page I wanted) closes both tabs..

I confirm that.
But I think that it's the desired behaviour. It follows the "middle-click to open a link in a new tab.window" behaviour.

This one is pretty simple (I guess)

When you lauch the browser, it opens the home page. If nothing is specified as the home
page, it opens a blank page (about:blank).

This first page can be displayed in a tab or not, following the pref Tools->Preferences->
Advanced->Tabbed browsing->Hide the tab bar when only one tab is open. If this box is checked,
the browser will not dispaly the launch page with an associated tab BUT the tab still exists. It is the UI that collapsed the tab bar.

Even if the first tab is not visually present, when you middle-click the bookmark, the browser
creates a tab for the first "hidden tab" and a second tab for the boomark.

Uncheck the pref to see if I'm right.
