Everytime I open my browser it crashes. here's the details of the report:

Tried it in the other browsers(IE), but they also suddenly close. Sometimes, the PC restarts whenever I open them(the browsers, any of them). What I noticed is that they mostly crash in sites with Flash content.

Hoping for a quick answer. :-k :-k

Go to the page about:crashes , then post here a few of the links that appear there.

Meanwhile, does the problem persists while in safe-mode? And are all your plugins up-to-date ( http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ ) ?

All the other links seem to be the same. Already tried in safe mode but still the same. Also, the plug-ins are on their latest versions...

That's clearly flash crashing and not Firefox. But maybe that's something else interacting with it. I would try to completely uninstall Flash, then reinstall it. And try in safe-mofe, then with a new profile.

I already re-installed flash, but the same thing happens again.

Looked at firefox with process explorer, and experimented a bit, and I found out that xul.dll seems to be causing the trouble. it says something like this:

xul.dll!gfxASurfaceDestroyFunc+0x838

So I suspended it first. Then a few seconds later, Firefox stopped, so I resumed the thread and Firefox closes, showing the Crash report again.

The crash link you gave us indicate that the crash was on Fx 3.5.8 and your user agent indicates Fx 3.6. I would reinstall Fx 3.6 and create a new profile.

Ok, I don't know if I did it correctly, but I reinstalled firefox and the plugins and updated everything. Also, I tried using a different profile. But still the same thing.

I submitted a new report.

This one is different. I bet one of your extensions is causing the problem. I see that a Skype dll is installed. Try uninstalling the Skype toolbar from your Firefox.

If not enough, try in safe-mode to see if crashes still happened. Also list here your exensions and plugins.

But you still didn't answer to the questions in my previous comment. I was thinking you were still testing. Have you tested in safe-mode? Have you removed the Skype toolbar?

howdy Fleiwind,

it seems obvious [which means it pro'ly aint [*grin*]] that the problem is NOT firefox. if ie AND ff trigger the crash when hitting flash sites, then the problem is either the sites in question or your flash installation. it might even be malware.

[1] please post a specific site and steps to reproduce the crash.

[2] try a total uninstall/reboot/reinstall/reboot and then test of the flash site listed in response to item [1].
for a total uninstall you will need to remove it from ff, ie, control-panel/add-remove-apps AND run the uninstaller from here ...
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

[3] run thru the standard malware remove song-and-dance.
you otta be able to get that via most any search on google.

hope that helps,
lee

Like I said in the previous statement, it seems that the problem "improved", this time crashing even if not in a flash site.
Don't know, but I might try doing another scan in the compuer... :(
