When loading up a link in a new tab it makes a second blank

tab next to it and sometimes doesn't load the first tab I want to open, I have version 38.1.0 for Windows 8.1.

Tried Firefox safe-mode yet?
As you can see she's (The CAT) always alert and on the prowl for Meoware !!

Does the same thing happen if you run the same Profile with Firefox?
(I'd make a copy of the Profile to test with.)
Fire 750, bring back 250.
