memory and cpu use

Post by bardos »

After all these years and all these versions, why is Firefox still a memory and cpu hog? If left alone and open, it will eventually slow down my whole computer. What I do is close firefox and reopen it and then it eats less memory and cpu. But it's only a matter of time before it gets to the same place. Firefox started out great but has since gone downhill...

Make sure you don't have the flash plugin running, most video will work now without it and it has always been one of the worst causes. And then do some testing again when Firefox 57 is released in about 2 weeks, the terminating of legacy extensions as well as other changes make it hugely different.

Are you sure it is Firefox and your browser isn't being used for In-Browser mining?
