Mysterious CPU Usage with latest ESR and v98

Post by thomaz »

Hi,
Firefox eats CPU and Memory which isnt showed in "FF's Taskmanager" (Mem usage was ~150mb when it started and minutes later when i made screenshots it was ~230 MB).
I just used Deezer.com when the bug started.
I closed all tabs but CPU usage remained.
This happens every couple days.
It happens with v91 ESR and a fresh profile + small configurations + v98 (using the ESR profile).
It must be a profile Problem because it doesn't happen with my old profile + v98!
So, how to fix?
:)

EDIT: Problem again there now just using this forum. :(

Firefox is not using 150 or 230.

Firefox is using 235+6+125+27+16.

Be it 150 or 230 or 409, that is a relatively piddling amount of memory (for FF).

---

Now your 25% CPU (usage by FF), that very likely is an issue.
(Assuming that is 100% of 1 of 4 cores.)

The cause of that... ?

Could be an extension interfering? Crap web page that simply isn't playing well?
Video (or media player in general) may very well use lots of CPU (depending). And Deezer being an audio site...
Oddities like even a "simple" animation have been know to cause high CPU usage.

You might test in Safe Mode.
And/or in a new, clean Profile.
Fire 750, bring back 250.
