Maybe i should add two new bugs:
a) images with exact 32767 pixel height crashes firefox
b) tall images are correctly resized but nothing is visible anymore.

If you can post a link to that resized image i'll check it.
For b) yes your image is still there but only a few pixel width at the left side (you can click on it). The rescaling algorithm is not really useful for this type of image. All non white pixel has disappeared.

820px × 36564px rescaled to approx. 560 pixel height gives approx. 13 pixel width.

Q: Maybe also throw this thread into Firefox boogs?
A: Not good. Dave is not registered.

I think the bug report procedure is too complicated (not least being the requirement to install a nightly release) but if my being unregistered is a problem, I can at least do that - done.
Maybe i should add two new bugs:
a) images with exact 32767 pixel height crashes firefox

This is certainly a particularly severe symptom of the bug, but I'm not sure it's a separate bug. But if adding it as a new bug helps it get fixed ... !
b) tall images are correctly resized but nothing is visible anymore.

Hmm, that's not a symptom I've seen. I think that's a symptom of the previously reported bugs that also occur on Windows.
If you can post a link to that resized image i'll check it.

I'll upload it tomorrow and post a link to it here.

I added an additional bug: Some images are not scaleable (scaled image is plain white)

Moving now to FF bugs.

Great thanks. I can need this image for the other bug report. It works for me.

images don't load on personal computer

Post by general development »

I came across this by accident, but I'm sure others have encountered the same issue. The browser Voodoo Witch Doctor somehow spelled me into hitting some keystrokes that placed a particular website into Block Image purgatory. Which translates: the images from a favorite website wouldn't load. After living under the spell for three days, I checked my Firefox bookmark Help and Tutorials. This lead me to the following three links:

Main Firefox Support Page > Websites don't look right in Firefox > Images or animations don't load or look wrong

This lead to a great diagnostic, but it didn't solve the problem. After going through the tutorial, I was lead to the Tools Tab > Options.

This is where I experimented and came across the following:

Tools > Options > Content > Load Images Automatically > Exceptions

Low and behold, I discovered image purgatory with my website listed within a blocked image block. I broke the spell by clearing the box and my images reappeared on my site. The spell was broken; life is temporally back to normal. I hope this helps others in dealing with the browser Voodoo Doctor as well.
