BTW, I've found that while TBE does introduce problems like these sometimes, they
tend to get fixed fairly fast. So, if you are having such a problem, see if it still
happens with latest TBE. I find the 1114 TBE to be very good.

TabBrowser extension conflicts with popup blocking

I had the same problem, tracked it down to TBE. I eventually e-mailed the author, who acknowledged the report.

In another discussion, someone said that the newest TBE from the author's website doesn't cause this problem.

20021119 with TBE no go

Post by sgipan »

Hi, I tried a clean install of build 20021119 and everything worked fine on the a.m. pages. But then installed the TBE (installed them on 19/11/2002, too) and - boink! no more go.
When I disabled them I still had to whitelist www.netzeitung.de to make the requested JavaScript-Window open.
Let's see when it will get fixed. If anyone knows it has, I'd appreciate a quick note.
thx

What version of TBE did you install? Did you try the 11/20 version? It says the version number when install is complete.

Hm, it says "2002102601". Where do I get a newer version?
Thx.

I go to TBE home page and download it from there regularly. I think that it is also available from extensions list sites, but I don't use them so can't tell for sure.

Thanx, that one did it (after another clean install of phoenix20021119)! And since the page doesn't seem to display correctly in Phoenix (must be joke, but seriously), here's the link for anybody else having this problem: http://white.sakura.ne.jp/~piro/xul/xpi/tabextensions.xpi
Thanx for the help! I think I won't mess around with new installs for a while... - until the next problem ;)
Just when I was about to give Opera 7 a spin.....

What do you mean it doesn't display correctly in Phoenix? Works fine for me, and always has.
I do think it looks better when you select a different style in the styles dropdown box. I like his original Purple' style better - but it may be just what I'm used to.

Check these out:

Look at the vertical scrollbar in Phoenix to see the supposed page length.....
However, it might be a problem with not having the japanese language pack installed (never found out how, anyways.... ;)

Bizarre. For me, in Phoenix it looks very similar to how it looks for you in Opera.
I don't have the japanese language pack installed here either, so that's not it. I did install it at home, so as not to get prompted for it every time and to see the pretty Japanese letters instead of the question marks.
To install it, go to Control panel / Regional settings. You'll likely have to have your OS CD handy.

This is how it looks for me in 20021119 with the standard style "Limited" (and I think how Piro wants it to look like):

Btw, you can see that Opera obviously doesn't get the menu and the fonts right
