Create a new account (Hotmail) in TH

Post by lemelinm »

Hi everyone,

I read a lot of informations about that subject. But it never work and it seems to be always the same reason. I want TH to retrieve the emails that I receive in Hotmail. So I click Files -> New -> Mail account. Afters entering the needed informations, I click on Continue. Here what I have before clicking on the create account.

After clicking to create the account, I receive this:

But if I go to the hotmail website using my Identifiant Windows Live ID, it work with the same password that I put in TH. I also found out that my server's name is blu141.mail.live.com instead of the pop3.live.com?????

It would really help me if you could help me on this.

Thanks in advance for your help.

How long is the password you are entering for Hotmail. It seems that email clients accessing Hotmail have problems with excessively long passwords. You might try changing it to something under 10 characters and then try that through Thunderbird.
