I use Sunbird @ work and I connect from home via VPN. I would like to have that same tasks and events in Sunbird there (work->windows, home->linux).
I thought I could use the Remote calendar feature, but I have no idea on how to set one up. Heard something about WebDAV, but I don't know what that is. Is there an /easy/ way to use the remote calendar?

I thought of that (and did it) but meanwhile anothere _wild_idea came to mind. I workat in ta company's IT department. It would be very useful if I could share with my colleagues tasks and event. That _would_ require some kind of remote calendar (I can't ask them to take turns in using a share). I don't know if this shareing is even possible (at least for the current development of Sunbird).

In that case, your best bet is probably webDav. IIRC, webdav protocols include a locking mechanism, so you won't have a concurrent access throwing off the calendar.
You can find information regarding webdav setup here: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/faq.html#share
I've setup a webdav on my webserver at home, which was running Apache on RedHat 9. The hardest part about it for me was setting up the SSL, but I don't beleive that is a requirement. To setup webdav on a RedHat system, follow this tutorial: http://www.twilight-systems.com/flacco/ ... 2-rh9.html
If you have any questions, just post in the forum. I'll help where I can, and I assume others here have also setup webdav for calendar sharing.
Another option is to have it hosted out. I've heard the site http://www.icalx.com/ metioned before in this regard, though I have not tried it personally.

You might also look at http://www.icalx.com, it supports remote tasks in both linux and windows.
