[Fx] stipe: W32 1.0 optimized builds (oxy6 and oxy7)

Post by moole »

These builds are optimized for speed and stability. They have proven to be faster than the official builds in all situations.

This was built with Visual C++ .NET 2003 using the following optimization options:

Oxy6: -O2 -GL6 (Pentium3s)
Oxy7: -O2 -GL7 (Athlon XPs and Pentium4s)

All builds include mmoy's SSE patches, MSVC dll's and my optimizations to the javascript and security modules and a special new image in the about box.

Very nice, I was having trouble with the official build, O2 -GL7 seems perfect.

In general, you have to try them out yourself. Your processor, motherboard, FSB speed, type and amount of memory and pref settings will impact performance.

But are we talking single or double percentage points difference in performance?

I don't think that any one performance change or optimization is going to give you double-digits performance improvement in overall browsing.

Check the date of the last legitimate post made in this thread i.e. ignore the vacuum spam.

Splitted vacuum cleaner spam

Sorry about that but if you report spam in the Sticky: Moderation / Spam / Registration / Login Activation Requests it would be dealt with faster.
