That would be a stupid thing to do! There are plenty of people still using Fx 3.6.x. Why on earth pull a perfectly good extension! The users should at least have access to old versions. This doesn't make any sense at all.

Edit: The developer's home page is http://omi.net.bd/. He/She may be able to shed some light on this. Or perhaps AMO discontinued it on their own. Have you asked about it in the AMO forums yet, T0morrow.

I just remembered the Add-ons Mirror, formerly known as The Extensions Mirror. The Extensions Mirror's founder Sboulema seems to be back and the mirror gives us access to extensions when AMO goes wacko. Paste and Go 3 is here:

"Addon gone?" is pretty generic when you could be referring to a Extension, Theme or even plugins or search engines as the word Addons does not refer to one thing.

You can get the Past and Go 3 extension from the home page - http://omi.net.bd/290

Some of the links on the home page take you to the now removed AMO page, but between the first & second image is a link to download version 1.0.4 of the extension. The last version on AMO was 1.0.5

Paste and go is now part of Firefox 4. That was why it was discontinued.

That's why i said what are pre 4.0 users supposed to do? .This implies that i am perfectly aware of this feature being part of 4.0.And by pre 4.0 i mean 3.0;3.5 and 3.6 ofcourse (not 4.0 pre).
Just that those pre 4.0 users who have not downloaded this addon already and those, who do not keep separate offline addon collection (most do not), may not know such an addon even exists, let alone download and install it.

What's even more - there is no annoucment,message,post - nothing.Just one day addon is simply not available any more and that's that

The add-on developers were inform of this change by email the 1st time over a month ago and 2nd time over a week ago. If anyone is has fault is the add-on developers not keeping there email address current and up to date with Mozilla or them just not checking there emails. The add-ons are just disabled, so once the add-on developers becomes aware of this all he or she has to do is contact Mozilla to have there add-on submitted for preliminary review and if it passes, then the add-on will be undisabled.

There's this http://www.ghacks.net/2011/02/13/paste- ... extension/ which supposedly works with the address bar as well despite the extension's name. I've not tried it because I already have Paste and Go 3 installed here.
