Sunbird Update?

Has there been any news on Sunbird lately? I looked around and didn't seem to see anything.

I'm sure many people along with myself are very eager to see Sunbird get updated. Thunrderbird and Firefox has hit 1.0. An updated version of Sunbird seems to be the next logical move.

Does anyone know anything about it?

There is currently a lot of backend work going. They are rewritting the backend to be more general and allow it to work with different types of calendar providers. I don't think there will probably be a release until some of that get worked out.
