Re: Confused Unified Folders: Why?
howdy wicket,
user agent = Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.15) Gecko/20110303 Thunderbird/3.1.9
i'm not sure just what you are talking about. the order is a tad different from my current list, but i never use that view, so i dunno what it otta be. here's mine as it shows today ...
inbox
templates
trash
archives
drafts
junk
sent
outbox
pop-account
imap-account
local-folders-account
when i have a same-name mail box in multiple accounts that mbox is shown as a subfolder of the unified listing in the order of the three accounts listed at the end of the unified folders view.
take care,
lee

Re: Confused Unified Folders: Why?
Thanks for this, Lee.
I guess I"m finding the repeat entries of my user name and of Local Folders puzzling. If these occur twice automatically, why do they? And if I've set up my Account incorrectly, how can I fix it? Deleting Local Folders isn't allowed....

Re: Confused Unified Folders: Why?
howdy wicket,
as i understand it ... and i may be _very_ wrong [*grin*] ... unified folders is intended to do just what it's doing. it presents you with a "mail box" that contains all the items in same-named mail boxes in _real_ accounts. the sub-folders are there to make it easy for you to see ONLY that one account's mail box when you want to see it that way. you will see the subfolders if-and-only-if there is a mailbox with that name in more than one account AND there is something in more than one mailbox.
for instance, my templates folder in unified folders view shows no subfolders cuz i have ONE msg in templates in my pop-account and the other template folders are currently empty.
so leave the unified mailboxes collapsed and you won't see the real sources in that view. just hit the unified mbox and look at them that way.
i use all folders view cuz i like seeing what i really have instead of a virtual view.
take care,
lee
