Firefox How to Control Animation Looping

Post by q£hh »

Hello,

How are animation loopings controlled in Firefox? In Mozilla there's Edit->Preference->image etc, but there doesn't seem to be a similar function in Firefox.

Type about:config and filter for and set image.animation_mode to none, if you want disable all image animations. You can also set it to once if you want the animation to loop only once and then stop. The default value is normal.

I have finally reached a point that I simply cannot stand all of the tripe animations any longer. They are so distracting! However, following these instructions do not stop the animation in FF1.0. Is there something else that I should be doing or have I found a bug?

I believe you have to stop and restart FF for that change to take effect. Give it a try.

Yeah, did that too, but no joy. These animations are REALLY annoying!

Thanks for your help.

Maybe they are not animated GIFS but Flash movies?

Good reason not to install Flash - or better yet >> Flash Block extension <<.
