My two cents on tab animation.. the original 'selling point' of mozilla (netscape) was that it was lighter, faster and w3c compliant..
I've heard (seen) a LOT of complaint and I'm seconding it here, that "FireFox" has, is getting Too big and Slow..

Just my opinion,, and what I'm 'hearing'.
Landis.
'Microsucks' made me nuts, Linux is making me crazy...
...at least with Linux, I can afford the therapy.. : )
openSuSE | KDE | enlightenment | mozilla Aurora 55 / Nightly 106 Konqueror /Opera/ Aurora Dev Ed | Now, down to Firefox 45 52 ESR as the 'new' direction... sxxxs!

At least some UX changes are landing. Waiting for Tab animation by the way.

how annoying, you can turn it off by toggle browser.urlbar.trimURLs.

Tell me one reason, why do you need that http:// text in the url?

It is weird at first (especially on the Awesome bar results), but it is not that big of a deal. And it comes back whenever it isn't a simple "http://" URL.

It makes me feel like a elite hacker.

Familiarity, It's been http:// forever, and I don't want to change it, not to mention it doesn't offer any more functionality than www does, it's just change for the sake of change.
Or Copying Chrome/Opera again, whatever.

Can be Disabled by using pref: browser.urlbar.trimURLs; set to false.

Also, Firefox URL domain Highlighting;
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451833

Can be Disabled by using pref: browser.urlbar.formatting.enabled; set to false.

Already in latest Aurora 6.0a2 and Nightly 7.0a1 builds.

Does the url trimming behave like in Opera, where when you click in the address bar, the whole address is shown (for copying/checking)? Also just wait til almost all of the url is hidden until selected like in Opera. It makes glancing at the URL rather odd :-"

It does not appear when clicked. But when you cut or copy, it is included on URL for when you paste.

Oh weird. Maybe it does something like where if you highlight from the beginning it includes the protocol in the clipboard.
