Go for it, I tried this posting - http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=175906 - but I'm not having much luck with that "Enable "showoldexts.enable_theme_support" " instruction. It doesn't show up in about:config, and I even tried creating it myself.

That was for post 0.9, which mean 0.9 themes, outdated. extract 1.0's classic.jar (change name to classic.zip, after unzipping rename the file to classic.jar). then tell me what you need

There's an extension for that. Check out the Extensions forum, or try a search.

You might try getting your hands on SOE version 0.15, that's the only version that works for me.

Hey, that playstation theme is awesome. Where's the download link? I'll have that puppy up in a few and send them back to you.. err.....or you guys can mess with it - I just want to see it on my screen now! :) All it's going to take is some cut and paste, some drag and drop, and a little editing.

Thanks Sailfish, 0.1.7 isn't working for me.

But I can't find it anywhere. This blows?! Why is making a theme so hard...

It's not as hard as you think it is. You'll see. Nice site by the way.

Without looking at what you have, it seems all you need is an install.rdf file. Send me the file and i'll send it back to you - installable - so you can work on it and see changes when starting your browser - you know, dynamically.

What the hell is SOE version 0.15?

edit -
I can't figure out how to create themes by working on them directly and seeing the changes dynamically, ie. without packaging and installing them first.
- oh sorry. I missed that. I work on my themes in the installed state so..... I don't know. Seems you are ignoring me anyway so i'll leave you alone. Take care and good luck. I really like what you have created.

If Show Old Extensions doesn't work for you, force the program to use your theme with:

general.skins.selectedSkin

and setting its value to your skin name (ie the “chrome:name” entry in contents.rdf).
You can do this through about:config in Firefox or user.js in Thunderbird.

See http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=175906 for further instructions.

Oh ok, thanks. I just update extensions/themes. If they don't install, I'll update the files myself, if I can. At some point you are going to have to update files anyway - so might as well do it now. It only requires a few minutes - if even that. Drag and drop/cut and paste is a wonderful thing.

Merry Christmas Sailfish!
