The info was posted in the news section yesterday, which for some reason broke the main page, thus it was rolled back. Thus, everything is there but the actual announcement.

Well, in case everything is there but the actual announcement - it means there is no release yet.)) Last edited by vladmir on July 3rd, 2011, 6:42 am, edited 1 time in total.

If you think I don't see all pages - you are wrong. Download & Releases page is not the page of official announcement. http://www.seamonkey-project.org/news is the page which is broken, thus no news.
Hopefully it can be fixed in time for the final release, which should be - err... - tomorrow!? rsx11m
http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/seamonkey/ Is not broken. irc://irc.mozilla.org/seamonkey "Topic for #seamonkey ..." - is not broken. And Philip as SM Council member can announce here. ![]()
As I understand it Mozilla Server Ops has requested that we repush the website update on Tuesday instead of Monday when more Mozilla staff will be back at work after the long holiday weekend (in case something goes wrong again). That sounds reasonable. When I was IT, being paged in the middle of a long weekend was rather sucky. Also the SeaMonkey webpages live on an ancient system which the guys in Server Ops have little experience troubleshooting. And Callek and InvisilbleSmiley weren't much better. According to KaiRo, it's the templating system used by the seamonkey-projects.org website that is rather shaky, not the server itself.
Phil Announcement for 2.2b3 was posted on m.d.a.s this morning:
OK. It looks like official announcement more or less. ))
(date of beta release would be good too in that announcement)) Doesn't really matter any more, SM 2.2 final build1 was tagged last night, though I don't see any builds showing up yet. ETA tomorrow now, then he should have six weeks to clean up any issues with the web site before the next round hits...
Thanks for the update, rsx11m. Taking into account the server issue and the 4th of July holiday for US citizens, a delay should be expected. Typically, the SM Council has been on top of things and updates are posted within ours of a release. Having worked with many volunteer efforts and organizations, I have to say that the SM Project works hard with the end-users and I applaud everyone for their efforts in keeping this browser alive and as a viable choice. ![]() I apologize as I feel I may have started or fueled the discussion concerning a lack of timely news. I was speaking in generalities and once again reiterate how well the SM crew has done in this area. For those that recognize and celebrate it, have a fantastic 4th of July - Independence Day!
