FTP connection: how to disable PASSIVE MODE ?

Hi, sometimes I use Mozilla firefox to connect tu ftp sites.
Some site need a connection with PASV MODE disabled, and Internet explorer ca do this things, is it possible with firefox too?
How can I do this thing?

think firefox has only limited ftp-support. you could give fireftp (an extenstion i guess) a try (haven't used it myself)?

FF defaults to passive mode. We have not been able to find a way to set it to active mode. Given that you must continue to use IE to get Windows updates, you can keep using IE for FTP. Or, if you want an industrial strength FTP client, use ws-ftp pro.
