Help with 'lowermybills.com' type popup

Post by donna_W »

Hello, I'm just new to firefox. One of my pet peeves are these annoying.....I'm not sure what they're called...but 'lowermybills.com' is one of the most annoying adds you see on the web page. I HATE seening 50 millions things constantly in motion when I'm trying to read something.

How do I stop this!!!! [-o< Please help...otherwise, I will go back to Explorer. I have a blocker for that.

Thanks

Having never seen one of these popups it sounds like something that Explorer allowed on your machine to begin with. You should do a scan for spyware/adware with tools like Spybot & Adaware.

Welcome, welcome.

For future reference, inquiries concerning Firefox should be posted in the Mozilla Firefox Support forum.

Have you enabled Firefox's popup blocker?

Tools > Options > Web Features...

Then check, Block Popup Windows.

And as Charles suggests, looking into a good anti-spyware program is also a wise measure.

Yeah, of places where you can get spyware removal programs...

I meant links to the webpages where these popups were being experienced.

Yes, but she meant ads for that site, not the site itself.
