Phoenix rename proposal
What do you all think of Arias? Thanks to Spiffster on IRC for spotting this. Arias is part of the name of the world's smallest lizard, just discovered yesterday. See http://dsc.discovery.com/news/briefs/20 ... izard.html
It has the following advantages:
- I think it sounds pretty cool
- It's meaningful, since it's the world's smallest lizard (and hey, it also regenerates its body parts, kinda like Phoenix is coming back to life. Or something -- it's a stretch)
- The article is from yesterday of last year. It's a sign!
A notable disadvantage is that it might be misspelled a lot. While that'd be a big deal for a major released product, I'm not sure how much it realistically matters for us.
Thoughts? opinions?

Extra cool: it's also a type of gecko.

Makes me think of "Alias".
Arias... Isn't the real name Sphaerodactylus Ariasae? I read the article, but the short-form Arias wasn't used anywhere, however, Jaragua was. Also, it doesn't really imply what it's about (a web browser), but neither did Phoenix.
I don't know how to prenounce this! Is it Árias (as in area) or Aréas?

Not bad at all :)
The good thing is that it's very short, and is easy to remember.

Arias
I kind of like the (sound of the) name, but it's also the plural of "aria", "an elaborate song for solo voice", as WordNet puts it, so most people will just think, "why?" - simply because no one knows that it's also a gecko. Most people know what a phoenix is (at least now that Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is on the big screen ).

It's a nice name, topical and all, but it fails the sliding-off-the-tongue test.

Since the lizard is named after a woman of latin american descent, I would presume AH-ree-as (that last a is probably a schwa)
