I have done some searching and found some old topics about this, but none of them seem to work for me. My company has an Exchange 5.5 server and I am using Thunderbird 1.0. I am able to get my mail successfully though IMAP, but I am having trouble getting ldap address to work with the exchange global address list.
Here are my current settings:
hostname: email.domain.com
Base DN: dc=domain,dc=com
Port number: 389
Bind DN: NTDomain\username
search filter: (objectclass=last)
When I try to do a search I am prompted for my password, but after that I get nothing.

I figured it out. Here are my settings:
hostname: email.domain.com
Base DN: cn=Recipients,ou=Site Name,o=Organization Name
Port number: 389
Bind DN: cn=username,o=Organization Name
search filter: (objectclass=*)
I found my answer here:

One last thing
You may want to choose the following for your search filter/query, especially for large databases:
(objectclass=user)
I thought my LDAP was unresponsive until I added this part.
You have to make sure that the Base DN matches that of your server's "Search Base" which is hopefully provided by your sys admin
Also, the LDAP port should be 3268, not 389
(objectclass=user)

Thanks, I will try that objectclass setting.
I tried both 3268 and 389 when I was troublesooting, and found that on Exchange 5.5 or at least my companies uses port 389.
I will have to look into the correct Base DN, because I know more about the server than the Sys. admin at my company. If i asked him he would have a clue what I was talking about. Sad I know!
Thanks for you input.
