Unfortunately these messages does not give me a clue on why is your toolbar disappearing, unless the "aNode is null" one does not appear when PrefMon is disabled, but i don't think so since it's related to context-menus...

However, i did a couple of changes and released a new version, which is fixing that case-sensitive issue. The changelog is as follow:

✓ Extension's name for bootstrapped/restartless add-ons are now properly retrieved.

✓ Comparison of add-on names are performed case-insensitively.

✓ Minimal improvements on the core engine (more sanity checks, etc)

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/preferences-monitor/versions/

Please test this version and let me know if something changed.

Well, the new version seems to have done the trick! My personal toolbar is unaffected and visible and the Pref's Monitor bar is not always showing.

I'll install it on another 'busier' Profile and let you know if anything crops up.

Many thanks.

*Edit* Not sure if I mentioned it but that was all with Ff 7.0.1 on XP Pro
Cheers,
Keith

Thanks to you :)

There's an internal counter which will avoid that "bar" (NotificationBox) from being opened more than four times per preference (everything will still be shown on the ErrorConsole, though), i may change this to be configurable.

Cheers.

Preferences Monitor has been updated:

Version 1.3
Released October 23, 2011 10.2 KB
Works with Firefox 3.6 - 10.0a1

✓ Fixed a little conflict between the code which obtains the add-on's names and the case-insensitive checks. (as a result, certain addons was being reported on the NotificationBox for changes clearly made to its own preferences)

A new version of FB Phishing Protector has been released:

Version 2.2
Released November 3, 2011 67.6 KB
Works with Firefox 3.6 - 10.0a1

✓ White-listed "dev.virtualearth.net" *while on* "stories.facebook.com" (Thanks to James L.)

✓ White-listed "js.cooliris.com" (Thanks to Evald R.) - Note: We've noticed scripts from this source have the ability to perform certain unsafe actions... However, that's a trusted company providing a privacy policy on how they use your data and thus we're white-listing it.

Facebook Phishing Protector 3.0 is now available for immediate download, the list of changes are the following:

Version 3.0
Works with Firefox 3.6 - 11.0a1

✓ Implemented a new white-list's scope which we'll name SAYoR (short for Scripts At Your Own Risk) where we'll white-list scripts comming from "userscripts" or add-ons NOT hosted on AMO. Those scripts while had to pass our validation to be whitelisted, we can't guarantee that future versions of them are safe to use as well.

✓ Implemented new notification mechanism by using Firefox's "PopupNotifications"

✓ Added options to enable/disable the SAYoR context and Popup Notification system to use, as usual go to the Add-On Manager to change them.

✓ Injections from iframes will be now reported on the parent window and thus the popup warning will be shown correctly centered on the webpage.

✓ Implemented internal storage engine to avoid reporting the same blocked script more than once per second. (All of them will still be logged on the ErrorConsole as they appear, though)

✓ Additional info will be logged on the ErrorConsole when an injection is blocked, such as the request origin or the location if within an iframe. Remember you can open the ErrorConsole at any time by using CTRL+Shift+J

✓ Whitelisted "dev.virtualearth.net" and "ecn.dev.virtualearth.net" globally (not only on stories.facebook.com - Thanks to Thomas B.)

✓ SAYoR'ed http://127.0.0.1:4001/isrunning as used by the cacaoweb add-on (Thanks to Lenard L.)

✓ SAYoR'ed GamersUnite/autoaccept.js?0.90 (Thanks to Carl M.)

✓ SAYoR'ed ajax.unfriendfinder/version=33 (Thanks to Heiko A.)

Hello!

Just wanted to inform all you of the availability of a new version of Preferences Monitor, which mainly fixes support for bootstrapped/restarless add-ons, specifically the add-on restartless-restart was used to the tests where its name wasn't retrieved properly, and some other minor fixes.

Version 1.4
December 16, 2011 10.2 KB
Works with Firefox 3.6 - 11.0a1

✓ Improved restartless extensions support.

Merry XMas and HNY 2012 to all!

Hi there,

I've released a new - very simple - addon, mainly useful for Gmail users who uses the interface in Compact Mode:

More Compact GMail: Hides the GMail top bar - repositioning the search box - to make it more compact and nice.

Also, an update for Encrypted Communication is available:

Version 1.3
Released January 14, 2012 121.9 KB
Works with Firefox 3.0 - 12.0a1

✓ Fixed an issue caused from some webmail services which sends the mails applying word-wrapping and thus the recipient was unable to decrypt the message.

Cheers!

Is Clean Links supposed to work similarly to Redirect Remover and Redirect Cleaner? If so, it does not seem to work well. For example on the Redirect Cleaner add-on page, www.example.com?url=www.mozilla.org is still www.example.com?url=www.mozilla.org. And www.example.com?http://www.mozilla.org links to http://www.mozilla.org/#cl-privacy.

It's designed to work exactly the way it works - i.e It does not support those "url=www." links (neither the add-on description suggest it does) - i'll try to improve it to support them when i get a chance, though.

Three extensions have been updated:

Preferences Monitor Version 1.5
Released February 29, 2012
Works with Firefox 3.6 - 13.0a1

✓ Fixed name recognition of unpacked extensions whose name were showing as C: (Win)

✓ The 'Error Console' will be opened just once even if clicking 'More Info' several times. Also, the contents will get filtered to either messages coming from the extension if you're using Console2 or to Errors if using the normal console.

✓ Made extension's name recognition more aggressive overall (please don't hesitate to let us know if you notice some side-effect!..)

Personas Shuffler Version 1.3
Released March 18, 2012
Works with Firefox 4.0 - 14.0a1, Thunderbird 5.0 - 14.0a1

✓ Compatibility fixes for Firefox 11+

More Compact GMail Version 1.2
Released March 21, 2012
Works with Firefox 10.0 - 14.0a1

✓ Fixed the Search Button since it got misaligned due some recent change.

Next in the list is Clean Links, these were urgent needed fixes!

Cheers.

Re: Personas Shuffler, Preferences Monitor, More Compact GMa

Post by rob64rock »

diegocr,

This is regarding Persona Shuffler version 1.3, I'm currently using it on Fx 14.0.1, Fx 15.0b1, latest Fx(Aurora)16.0a2, and Fx(Nightly)17.0a1 builds.

The problem I'm experiencing recently on latest Fx(Nightly) 17.0a1 is after browser restart the persona that is to be applied is only being applied to top portion of the browser not the bottom(Add-on Bar) has should, if I restart the browser again so another persona would be applied the same problem happens the persona doesn't apply to the bottom(Add-on Bar) has should, only if I disable Persona Shuffler 1.3 then restart the browser then the selected Persona applies to the bottom(Add-on Bar) has it should.

Note: This problem also occurs on the latest Fx(Aurora) 16.0a2 found here:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-aurora/

Persona Shuffler 1.3 is working has should on Fx 14.0.1 and Fx 15.0b1 persona's apply to both the top and bottom(Add-on Bar) portions of the browser has should after browser restart.

P.s.
Using WinXP 32bit.

Hi Rob,

I've just installed Nightly to give it a try, doing the following next:

1) Installed console2
2) Installed Extension Test
(I always install these two on new testing profiles)
3) Installed three personas
4) Installed Personas Shuffler
5) re-started, and restarted, and restarted ;)

It works fine here:

:-k

Make sure "persisted.footerURL" is set to false (it should be set by the add-on itself on each restart, but in case there is something conflicting) and also if the other lightweightThemes options are the same in your profile in any case.

How many Personas have you installed? Also, are you using some other personas-related add-on?

1.) My personas related about:config preferences match yours above when the problem occurs.
2.) I have 5 Personas themes installed:
  • Abstract BLACK BLUE
  • Blue Swirl Fox
  • Harvest_Moon
  • Stylus Blue
  • White Fire
3.) I'm also using extension Persona Switcher 1.10:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/lightweight-theme-switcher/

Note: The problem still occurs after disabling Extension Persona Switcher 1.10.

Ok, I still can't figure what the problem could be :(

I've installed those five themes and Personas Switcher, everything still working fine here (Apart from Nightly crashing every two minutes or so..)

You could try going to your profile (about:support -> show folder) and removing the file "lightweighttheme-footer" in case it somehow got corrupted...who knows (it's not likely but might worth a try - you can actually check if that's a readable image file)

Did you tried over a new clean profile, btw?

Hey Rob,

I've uploaded a new version, isn't due i found the problem but rather because i'm converting my add-ons to restartless and it seems it was the time for this one.. give it a try and let me know if something changed.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/personas-shuffler/versions/

Clicking Disable -> Enable will change the theme on-the-fly, check this too.
