I'm not sure how Imgur is supposed to work?
Seems like it is, but I'm not sure if it is working totally correct or not?
Like at times it seems to take over the right-click context menu with its' own?

chrome.manifest:

Code: Select all

- overlay   chrome://browser/content/browser.xul  chrome://imgurfox/content/firefoxOverlay.xul
+ overlay   chrome://navigator/content/navigator.xul  chrome://imgurfox/content/firefoxOverlay.xul

install.rdf:

Code: Select all

+   <!-- SeaMonkey -->
+   <em:targetApplication>
+      <Description>
+        <em:id>{92650c4d-4b8e-4d2a-b7eb-24ecf4f6b63a}</em:id>
+        <em:minVersion>2.0</em:minVersion>
+        <em:maxVersion>2.10a1</em:maxVersion>
+      </Description>
+   </em:targetApplication>

Quote Colors 0.3 with SM 2.7--no options button

Post by Ocelot »

Quote Colors 0.3 installs fine to SeaMonkey 2.7, but the Options button under the Add-ons Manager is missing. I've sent an e-mail to developer Malte Ruecker, asking if he'd either take a look at this, or be willing to allow someone like Philip to adopt and maintain it for the future.

In the interim, could you put a check of this behavior on your to-do list, Philip? I'm not knowledgeable enough about add-on code structure to make practical changes; tweaking the version number in the install.rdf is about the length and breadth of my current skills. :doubt:

I should note that my test version of SM 2.7 was using my current profile with a clean install of SM. It's possible that something in my profile caused this, but I highly doubt it.

(Note: I've reverted back to SM 2.0.14 in the interim for other functionality--I need SM to just work right now without the "getting used to changes" investment.)

Yes, it does. As long as you don't remove that and any other copyright notices in the XPI.

The Options button does appear in the Addons Manager for me. I've checked the XPI and it's certainly specified. You can try the version on my website but aside from the maxVersion bump, it's identical to the original:

Pfft. You'd think I'd know by now that I need to uninstall a misbehaving extension, then reinstall to see if that doesn't correct the problem. And as with many previous instances, it did. =D>

Thanks, Philip, for verifying that Quote Colors was behaving correctly at your end--helped me get my act together. Now I can use SM 2.7 with all the usual extensions. :mrgreen:

Sigh of relief that at least something is going right for me...

vickymentor,
I split your post off to here, coz you asked about Firefox, not SeaMonkey.

Is it possible to have this extension be made to work with Seamonkey, I have looked for an email address for the author but did not locate it.

Is there any addon for viewing the cache in SM 2.7.2? I installed the ViewCache 0.6.3 for SM, it installs but does not show anything in the view pane and has no options.
Thanks

Finally got it to work. Extensions using the Jetpack Addons SDK are a total mess with extremely convoluted code.

Code: Select all

Collusion 0.16.2
  + Updated install.rdf for SeaMonkey 2.7+.
  + Update all tests for Firefox to include SeaMonkey e.g.
    -if (!require("api-utils/xul-app").is("Firefox")) {
    +if (!require("api-utils/xul-app").isOneOf(["Firefox", "SeaMonkey"])) {
  + widget.js: we don't have "addon-bar", use the "nav-bar" instead.
  + window-utils.js: don't hard code hiddenWindow.xul. Use the
    "browser.hiddenWindowChromeURL" preference instead.
  + loader.js: don't hard code browser.xul. Use the
    "browser.chromeURL" preference instead.

Hot off the presses. No time to update website yet.
