Win32/Cygwin Builds

Post by Nitin »

I'm sure there are a number of folks trying to build using Hernik's <a href="http://gemal.dk/mozilla/build.html"> instructions </a>.

I was able to build current CVS using <a href="http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=16105"> this </a> workaround and the midl workaround mentioned on Hernik's page

Couple of questions for others who've already built:
a) Looks like mozillafirebird.exe that is built can be invoked from DOS only. When I double click it from windows, an empty DOS terminal is also opened. Anyone else noticing this?
<a href="http://earth.prohosting.com/vfwlkr/dosfbd.jpg">Here</a> is a screenshot. (use save as..)
b) Does it *feel faster* ;)

Edit: Update screenshot location

Anyone here knows how to generate a pure windows executable, instead of a DOS based one?

It is a "pure Windows executable" it just outputs info to a command window. It has nothing to do with DOS. That said you can get rid of the appearance of this box by adding this line:
LDFLAGS=-mwindows
to your .mozconfig.
