[SOLVED] - Windows Media Player Plugin & SeaMonkey

Post by ElTxolo »

Hi!

I have been using Windows Media Player Plugin 1.0.0.8 with SeaMonkey versions (from 2.1 to 2.9.1) and it worked perfectly. However, I tested with SeaMonkey 2.10.1, 2.11 Beta 2 and 2.12a2 and I am afraid I have found some troubles such as: audio ok but no image, no control panel shows, black image and sound ...

It was also tested with Firefox Release, Beta and Aurora versions and unfortunately I exactly found the same behavior.
BTW, using Firefox 10.0.5 ESR, Opera 12, K-Meleon 1.6, or Internet Exploder 8 (POS), and it works just fine.

Has anybody experienced similar troubles? Any options/ideas to fix it?

P.S: I already tried by using a clean Profile and safe mode with no result

Cheers! Image

wmv_test (test.wmv) plays fine, audio & video.

S211.mp4 plays fine, audio & video, though your capture of test.wmv did not capture the video portion of the test.wmv video.
(If you play S211.mp4 directly, in your media player, it still will not display the test.wmv video portion.)

(I don't typically run into WMV any more.)

Now here, http://v6.tinypic.com/player.swf?file=iz93sh&s=6, I have captured the video, but not the audio, & that is something with the capture part on my end.

WAG, in one of your Profiles, set gfx.direct2d.disabled;true & test.
(Don't think a restart is necessary, but can't hurt to try.)

No, that doesn't look to make a difference, but can't hurt to try.

@ therube & -Px-
Thank you both for your input and tests. ;)

FSCapture, didn't capture the video screen, because there isn't video screen as you could see in the mp4 (only black image and sound ...)

therube wrote:... set gfx.direct2d.disabled;true & test ...

The same result as before, (gfx.direct2d.disabled;true) it doesn't work. #-o

And what is setting for DXVA in Windows Media Player itself? I suppose, you update it to 11 version?

It doesn't work.

Finally i found the culprit. :-"
Always, I have modified, dom.ipc.plugins.enabled to "FALSE". But if the value it's "TRUE", the WMP plugin works without any problem.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your help -Px- Image

What was your reasoning for that (OOPP)?
