Always, I have modified, dom.ipc.plugins.enabled

What was your reasoning for that (OOPP)?

IMHO the plugin-container.exe is a resource hog, so i don't like. Therefore i don't want use it. [-X

I have the same problem, but "dom.ipc.plugins.enabled = true". The problem is only at Windows XP with WMP-11.
When I load the test link http://hg.mozilla.org/qa/litmus-data/raw-file/tip/firefox/plugins/mediaplayer.html then the video starts only when I open a new tab or change to another tab.

In version 2.11b4 the video starts after a click in the white (placeholder) window.

The problem is solved. When I disable the "Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link Library 3.0.2.629" then it works fine!?

Not on XP at the moment, but what is "3.0.2.629" ?

You want Microsoft® Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin.

If 3.0.2.629 is the older version, then yes you want that disabled.
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link Library 3.0.2.629 (npdsplay.dll)

is not the same as

Microsoft® Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin 1.0.0.8 (np-mswmp.dll), that is enabled.

Ah, you're right. Didn't quit catch that when you said it originally.

Yes that is what you get with WMP (\Program Files\Windows Media Player).
