Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server pop.att.yah
I get the message "Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server pop.att.yahoo.com responded: invalid user/password" wheniver I try to get mail or send mail. Don't know what to do?!

Did you used to be able to use the account to fetch, read and send email? I'm trying to rule out problems with the account settings.

Here is the setting that is working here on receive...
Server: pop.att.yahoo.com
Port: 995
Username: Your full email address
Connection Security: SSL/TLS
Authentication Method: Normal Password
Also try deleting the TB saved password for this account. Could be a corrupt or incorrect password saved.

Yes. It has worked perfectly for several years. It just stopped accepting my password 2 days ago and won't accept any password changes I make or accept the password on file. I've checked all my info and everything looks correct so, I'm stumped!

I have checked all the above and it is correct. I also deleted the password and still won't work.

Try logging into the ATT webmail through you internet browser. I remember having a similar problem several months ago. I was able to login via the net but neither TB or PP could login using the same password. I ended up resetting my att password via the website and things started working again. Can't explain why I could login one way but not the other; unless, somehow there was hiccup on the att-yahoo side. In my case I just re-enter the same password that I was using all along.
May not fix your problem but is worth trying.

Tried the logging in at ATT. That didn't work either. Anybody else have any other suggestions?

There is something wrong with the yahoo/att login. I have had this issue for 2 weeks. No answer posted anywhere.

Re: Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server pop.att
Took me 4-5 times on two different accounts to change my Yahoo pop account. I logged in to the Yahoo web interface 1st to make sure my password & account were not locked out. Logout cleanly.
On Linux client:
Edit>Preferences>Security>Password Manager
Delete the account and smtp account
Restart TB
Enter password when prompted to retrieve mail > Yes to save in Password manager
Send a test mail
Enter SMTP password > Yes to save in Password manager
So after a few times of doing this it finally took. PIA but resolved itself.
