Greyed out signatures
I created a 'userContent.css' file in my 'chrome' subdirectory with the recommended text below, but my email messages are still greyed out. I have also experimented by changing the specified colors in the text, with no effect, so I believe these directives are not being referenced by Thunderbird. I restarted Thunderbird between changes to the 'userContent.css' file with the expection that was the way the get Thumberbord to reload all config files.
Any other suggestions?
/*
* Change color of text and links in signature (Thunderbird display only)
*/
.moz-txt-sig, .moz-signature {
color: black !important;
}
.moz-txt-sig > a, .moz-signature > a {
color: #0000FF !important;
}

signature color
To change your signature text from gray (or grey) to black, put this at the top of your signature HTML file:
<font color=black>
<font color=black>

I don't think this is what most people want. See http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... 104#992925

want to ignore sigdashes
I'd also like to be able to make reply quotes include everything after the sigdash, but for a different reason.
I take several mailing lists in digest form. The digests collect together several peoples' postings, including their signatures. If I want to reply to one of the messages, the quoting of the digest is often cut off because one of the middle messages contains a recognised sigdash. Likely as not, the entry I'm trying to reply to will fall after that, so I can't get it quoted.
I'm accustomed to the idea of having the entire digest quoted, and me removing the unneeded bits of the quoting. I really would rather decide that for myself, rather than having TB second-guessing me, often incorrectly.
(An alternative which I could get used to, though I wouldn't like it as much, would be a way whereby I could select (highlight) a portion of the message I want to reply to, and then have that selected bit quoted into my reply-composition window.)

WOW. This all seems so complex. I want to create a 'signature' that appears on every outbound email and includes a small graphic from my company. I have it stored as a word doc (I know that's probably wrong from reading the above) BUT how and where do I save it??
Here's what I would like it to "look" like:

This thread is not about adding a signature to your outgoing messages. Add a signature is not difficult, see this knowledge base article: http://kb.mozillazine.org/index.phtml?t ... Signatures

One solution would be to stop top-posting and reply beneath a trimmed quote in accordance with traditional style.
Incidentally, Mozilla Mail / Thunderbird leave out the sig dash when you configure them to put the signature above the quotes. But top-posting still sucks.

chrome folder
Hi Jeroen,
as I read the forums I understand you have the right solution to solve the grey color signature problem. But although I use the code you provide it didn't work for me. I think my problem is I don't have a chrome folder under my profile of Thunderbird but I do have one under the Mozilla Firefox folder. I have inserted userContent.css file under the both folders but still not working. Any idea please.
Thanks,
Demir
