The 11.4 version is still a problem for me. Several crashes, and more than a few lock ups.
The 11.3 versions had problems that I had hoped Adobe fixed with the 11.4 release.
Will I have other problems if I drop back to the 10.3 version?

Most of the problems with Flash 11.3 and Firefox have been because of the "Protected Mode" feature which only applies to Windows Vista and above. On Windows XP, just do the "normal" Flash troubleshooting. You could try turning off hardware acceleration in Flash settings as a first step See:

You could try downgrading to Flash 10.3 which some people report works better on older systems. See:

Looks like you are using XP... if you were on Vista/7 I would say Protected Mode is a possible culprit but it doesn't run on any other OS's.

Yeah. so I've been told, but with one of the other versions of 11, I added the protected mode line to the mms.cfg file and it seemed to help. Maybe I'll try it for kicks and giggles before I take 11.4 off. I can't find that page in Adobe's site about turning it off, but I don't seem to remember it saying not to on XP, it just said Win32 systems.

Thanks for the links Alice. I went back to 10.3, but I have some apps that will only work with 11.x. I've put 11.4 back in. It seems to lock up once a session. When I restart the app that locked it up, things work OK until my next online session.
The protected mode thing is just a line of code. I don't think it will hurt it to stay in the mms.cfg file.

I thought it was off, but when I re-installed, that setting was the only one that had 'reset' itself to the 'default'. I guess I am going to have to re-train this old mind remember to check this when there are updates.

The "BetterPrivacy" addon can be set to maintain some Flash LSO cookies = settings, though I'm not sure about which particular ones.

Alice(and the others), thanks for the help. The problem is still there, so I'm guessing that Adobe has not considered some of the older video cards or OS's with all of their updates. So, it appears it is up to me to update the card, the OS, or this old POS machine.
