Re: Azure Progress
I think he's paraphrasing a long-running gag in Futurama, wherein the show often begins with Professor Farnsworth saying some variation of "Good News Everyone!" followed by something that's typically actually bad news.
Also, this is just more proof IMO that tab animations are a silly waste of time and resources.

Tip of the day: If it has "toolbar" in the name, it's crap.

Well if we're all posting opinions, I think they're essential and a great user experience. Tab re-ordering is far more intuitive when the animations are present.
The janky tab animation performance is probably related to Gecko's reputedly poor animation performance. Fixing them will likely have positive performance improvements in related areas.

Nah, its just proof that a system is not in place to handle animations without interruption. They should stop until OTMC is done atleast.

I do. I do. I sneer at good things and make them feel uncomfortable.

I cannot jump to such a conclusion.
I can assert that Azure should not have been enabled with such performance issues.
Or that overall, the FF rendering engine needs to be modernized ASAP.
Dumping unoptimized ***p on another thread is not a solution.

Yes. I like how IE10 does tab animations. Very efficient, clean, and optimized.

You jump to conclusions every time you post. For example...

You can assert anything you like, but people are unlikely to listen to you unless you can list a number of issues with Azure that were known and ignored before it was enabled by default. Bonus points if you filed the bugs yourself.

Re: Azure Progress
I've always used TMP to disable tab animations because they were laggy a year ago and just tested today and there's no change. Honestly tab animations should just be disabled all-together, it makes the browser look much faster imo.

There are times for me, like right now, that they are smooth as butter, and then there are times that its not even laggy, they just will not animate and its basically like reverting back to before they had them. silly silly

Just ignore the Opera/IE10/Whatever flavor of the week browser troll Hera. Seriously, ban non contributing trolls like Hera once and for all.
