Can't ftp

I have found that I am unable to connect to any ftp site


I have made sure I have direct connect checked

I am asked for my credentials then nothing


I have verified the logons with another ftp client


any hints or thoughts

What version of SeaMonkey, 2.6.1?
Are you able to connect to an anon ftp site like, ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/ ?

As a test, does it work in a new Profile?
