Re: Modded Extensions for SeaMonkey

Post by therube »

For a long time now, every so often, I have had trouble with SeaMonkey declaring JSView to be incompatible & disabling it.

The latest time was today, when I updated Aurora with it's latest .mar.

When it happened the time before, I removed JSView, then reinstalled it, figuring that something could have been screwy with my Profile, & it could very well be a Profile issue (there being many extension inter-related files that are used).

In the past I would also set a Preference like user_pref("extensions.checkCompatibility.2.14a", false);, but I figure we are past the times when doing so should be necessary.

Yet every now & again, JSView is not liked, & it is only JSView that this happens to.

Ideas?

It used to work with it, I'm pretty sure, but it can't be installed anymore.

It's a nice security enhancement and I would definitely install it if it were made available.

Thanks.

try this drweb-2.7.0-fn+fx+tb+sm.xpi

Wonder why that is?
Yes, it does work in 2.12.1.

Kind of works in > 2.12.1
The UI seems to all be there. Options work & what not.
Only it never completes an actual scan (never returns results), so not of much value.

So the changes...

Code: Select all

Cc to Components.classes
Ci to Components.interfaces

what was that, something that Mozilla did, necessitating that change?

SM 2.13.2
Installing/reinstalling Statusbar Clock timestatus-1.7.1-mod.xpi and try to access it's options in Add-ons Manager makes SM to freeze(!). It did work under SM 2.12. Probably even under SM 2.13.0.
Has anyone else experienced that?
TIA

OK I see what happened. I've updated it for current versions of SeaMonkey. Same download link. To be safe wait a couple of hours for the mirrors to synchronize.

http://downloads.mozdev.org/xsidebar/mods/timestatus-1.7.1-mod.xpi

Changes:

1. Added a chrome.manifest file.
2. Changed <popup> to <menupopup> to avoid transparent popup menus :S

An other matter, and may be it's not the right place here, but I don't know better. I have to sync 3 PCs (two of them with XPPro and one with Win7Pro). With SM 2.13.2 installed.

I had to abandon the sync function cause it messed up the bookmarks, extensions/add-ons and passwords, and have to use a sync program (GoodSync), with which, for proper results, I carefully have to select individual profile files.

Resetting sync on all three and appointing one PC as the master, saved me from loosing bookmarks and passwords, however I had to reinstall all extensions/add-ons on the two other PCs, with hours of work involved.

Are you happy with the sync function?

Thank you. That newest version seems to work. I appreciate your work very much. I will use this until Dr. Web comes out with an update to work with SeaMonkey, or as long as it works with new versions of SeaMonkey.

I have put in a request at the Dr. Web site for them to make their extension compatible with SeaMonkey. I was very polite and I hope other people might petition them in a nice way to get them to cooperate.

Here is a nice extension that works with SeaMonkey, but is not listed as such:

eCleaner

It gets rid of leftover about:config entries from extension uninstallations that don't clean up after themselves very well.

(xsidebar) FullerScreen needs a version bump.

I've done (only that) here, http://www.filesplat.com/.therube/share ... 20Copy.xpi, so feel free to bump your 2.3.3 or grab mine (its good to SeaMonkey 2.99.* ;-)).

img2tab works with a couple simple changes.

I've sent the fellow an email asking him to support SeaMonkey.

Code: Select all

install.rdf:

    <!-- SeaMonkey -->
    <em:targetApplication>
    <Description>
    <em:id>{92650c4d-4b8e-4d2a-b7eb-24ecf4f6b63a}</em:id>
    <em:minVersion>2.0</em:minVersion>
    <em:maxVersion>2.16a1</em:maxVersion>
    </Description>
    </em:targetApplication>

chrome.manifest:

    overlay  chrome://navigator/content/navigator.xul chrome://img2tab/content/img2tab.xul
Fire 750, bring back 250.

For some reason Make Link has stopped working in SeaMonkey 2.14. I tried reinstalling it from your modded extensions page but no help.

Bookmarks menu 1.4

An install section, a change to a chrome entry, & with those mods, looks to work in SeaMonkey: http://www.filesplat.com/.therube/share ... 20Copy.xpi
Fire 750, bring back 250.

scrapbook-1.3.7-mod.xpi in last versions of SeaMonkey.
Doesn't work in Editor:
-Remove the selection
-Highlighter
-Outline in Dom Erasier

For fixing Outline - in editor.js I replaced "elem.style.MozOutline" to "elem.style.outline".
(I use scrapbook only for editing pages before saving in File - Save as.)
