Seamonkey 2.14 beta builds arrive (was/on hold for a while?)
Wondering when they might start again. I'm currently behind the release chemspill fix. Anyone know? (Other browser, not the one in my sig.)

Re: Seamonkey 2.14 beta builds on hold for a while?
The Status Meeting wiki now has some additional info:
https://wiki.mozilla.org/SeaMonkey/Stat ... 2012-10-16
I'll jump to release to get the latest fixes and then back to beta later.
It's been busy two weeks again with 3 releases including a chemspill. And another one potentially coming up, which would further delay 2.14b1. The benefit would be that the Addressbook fix could ride along.

I would think the next time a 2.14 build is built, it will end up in /candidates/ as 2.14b1-candidates?

"This is a tracking bug for Build and Release of SeaMonkey 2.14 Beta 1.
We expect an actual release on Monday 22nd October."
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=803055
(Unless something for the better happens sometime soon on Aurora, where it has been performing abysmally for me, I'm going to drop back to Beta.)

Re: Seamonkey 2.14 beta builds on hold for a while?
Aurora Firefox 18 is driving my CPU mad, but only on sites overloaded with Javascript, like many newspaper sites. I'm starting to cordon off the 3rd party stuff with NoScript. Newspapers often have 15 different 3rd party script hosts.
By the way there is a popular jQuery slideshow/animation script that updates like every 12 milliseconds or something. If you get a couple of those running, on my old CPU, the loud fan kicks in, and for me that is the alert. Many animations look perfectly fine even at 200ms. I know, I've used the same libraries to put JS animations online myself.
Haven't tested much yet with Nightly 19 (Seamonkey 2.16), maybe it is better.

Some builds are posted at http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/mozilla:/ but apparently not on a regular basis (no "alpha" builds, and "beta" shows SM 2.11.99 as the most recent version, which would be a 2.12 beta).

Actually after one or 2 days after they appear on the mozilla community repo they also get updated in the updates folder
So technically speaking we don't need mozilla repo added

SeaMonkey 2.14 beta 4 is now officially released, one week after beta 3, thus back on track.

And the reason for that, & the reason that now b5 has yet to be pushed is due to Norton !

Yes, it's annoying that the apparent inability of an AV vendor to create rules in their product(s) which won't hit false positives with legitimate applications is repeatedly delaying the actual release of such updates to the users. Norton should finally fix this.
